Isla beach Hard Rock boho destination wedding, Crystal and Jaylan, Punta Cana

Isla beach Hard Rock boho destination wedding, Crystal and Jaylan, Punta Cana

Best way we can to describe Crystal and Jaylan’s wedding were the words from the best man: “there must be something in water today”! LOL! There were happy tears all over the place! From the ceremony, when Crystal’s mom recited the song she wrote for the happy couple, all the way to the reception where Jaylan’s sister did not leave single dry eye in the room!

The officiant for the wedding was Jaylan’s dad. They wanted to show the appreciation and how much they love him by having him officiate the wedding. Also, Jay’s uncle MC the wedding because of his outgoing personality.

For the ladies, the wedding day started at POSH Salon at Hard Rock Hotel in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and for the guys at the groom’s room. Bridesmaids had gorgeous fuchsia dresses that matched perfectly with tropical wedding theme at Isla beach Hard Rock and along with the bouquets they were perfect color pop from the turquoise Ocean background. Crystal and Jaylan wanted their wedding to reflect their personal style, they envisioned mix of simple and upscale decor which was a hit in the center! They had quite a few DIY decor pieces like aisle runner and table centerpieces which matched bridesmaids’ dresses adding a pop of color to the reception decor. Ceremony took place at Isla beach Hard Rock, with Seaside Romance setup with changed drape color and golden chairs. Couple took inspiration for the ceremony setup from ultimate canvas so they choose simple yet gorgeous set up. Wedding guests had a cocktail just before the reception at Piano Gazebo. The reception was at Sax Pool with the table centerpieces they brought and upgraded cake table. The vibe for the reception was so serene with all bistro lights and love sign. Crystal said that she went back and forth with choosing the style of her wedding dress form princess fluffy dress to a boho fitted dress. After seeing herself in her wedding dress (that was by the way drop dead gorgeous!) she absolutely knew that was the one! The bride wore foot jewelry custom made from the same wedding dress as well as all bridesmaids which was a special token of appreciation.

Favorite part of their wedding day, bride and groom told us, was the fact that it was just absolutely beautiful and seeing all of their friends come together to have a great fun night together. They also loved the fact that it rained and everyone kept dancing and didn’t mind. After all, as per Dominican belief, they say it’s good luck when it rains on the wedding day!

Here is their love story:

Me and Jaylan met through my father one night Jaylan played on his pool league team and I had stopped to drop cookies off for my dad. After that we clicked and haven’t stopped talking since that day 2 years ago. After that moment I truly believed in love at first sight. Jaylan knows that Christmas is my absolute favorite time of the year. We went to long wood gardens where they had an abundance amount of Christmas lights and flowers all over and he found the perfect spot under a bridge full of gorgeous lights and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was perfect as I already think Christmas is so magical and so was this moment. I think the most special moment of the wedding day was finally getting to walk down the aisle to each other after a crazy year with the pandemic. My advice for planning a destination wedding is just hang in there during the process it is hard and stressful at times but when you finally get to your special day it is all so worth it. Spend the extra money on things that are important to you. We did and we do not regret a single dollar. As far as marriage advice just love each other. Life is never perfect and obstacles happen. Get through them together. You will come out stronger. And always love and build each other up and be a power couple. Love always wins in the end!!

Hard Rock Resort destination wedding, Amber and Matt, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Hard Rock Resort destination wedding, Amber and Matt, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

We have a great pleasure to introduce our Hard Rock Resort gorgeous couple, Amber and Matt a high school sweethearts that life separated at first but then reunited again, speaking of true meaning of how real love always find its way, hey?

Since both of them shared same love for traveling and having huge wedding wasn’t never their thing, Amber and Matt chose Hard Rock Resort Punta Cana for their wedding venue. One more reason for choosing this Hotel was that Amber already visited Hard Rock Resort while on her business trip with her vitamin company LeVel in 2019 and she said that they all felt very safe and had so much fun, so she wanted the same thing for her family and friends as well.

Matt’s step mom Michele, who is at the same time best friend with Amber’s mom, helped Amber to choose a wedding dress. She opted for gorgeous Da Vinci laced mermaid wedding dress with sweetheart neckline.

If you are not already in love with this couple, wait until you hear about their engagement story! This will give you a serious heart eyes!

March 20th 2020 we were in Cabo San Lucas where he proposed to me, Amber told us. He wanted to propose to me on the beach at Lover’s Beach, however, that was the day that COVID pandemic started and president Trump closed the US borders with Mexico while we were there. Cringe! We had to run to the airport an figure out what was going on. It was a mess! We were not for sure if we were going to be returning to our hotel so he was unable to propose to me at the beach, but he chose a beautiful location on the 7th story balcony where we had spent a few nights and days whale watching in the Pacific. When he went to pull the ring out of the bag it flew out onto the ground in almost fell off the 7th story balcony but he caught it!!

I don’t know about you guys, but my heart just stopped a bit there!

When a Rock & Roll couple has a beach destination wedding at Kukua to honor the Caribbean heritage

When a Rock & Roll couple has a beach destination wedding at Kukua to honor the Caribbean heritage

Yes, you read that right… a Rock & Roll destination wedding at Kukua! Jo and Brandon’s dream was to have wedding on the beach that reflected who they are and they did just that at Kukua Beach Club in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Their wedding was one of a kind, with a classic black theme incorporating skulls, all the while keeping it romantic. Jo dreamt of her vision a couple of years back and it was brought to life by the passionate Mayte Mari – a true wedding designer magician! Everything about this wedding was awesome, from the rock music that was played while the bride was getting ready, to edgy reception décor, to the black wedding cake, it was all drop-dead-gorgeous (no pun intended)! Even the bride’s shoes with thorns were cool!

As you may guess, this wedding had equally unique and incredibly loving bride and groom! Jo and Brandon told us their love story on the day we had our Trash the Dress photo-shoot at Macao Beach. They met 8 years ago at the Spartan Race and they instantly “clicked”. Brandon is a veteran of the US Army, now working as a firefighter (hence the axes for the groomsman gifts) and they both volunteer for the veteran support groups. Jo is a computer engineer enjoying running competitions with obstacles and marathons. They have daughter Bayley aaaand you guessed it …. they are all into the hard rock music! You should see Bayley singing songs from Tool, knowing the words by heart of course!

But what struck us the most, was the extraordinary amount of love they all have for each other! That was one incredibly loving group of family and friends having the best day ever. There had a carnival with dancing, jumped into the famous swimming pool (with their clothes on), cut the cake with an axe, and set a new standard in post-wedding photo-shoots that included the idea that Jo had “sending the wedding dress away” thingy. At the end of the Trash the Dress photo-shoot, Jo and Brandon walked into the ocean with their wedding clothes on, so Jo could take off her wedding dress to send it off as a symbol of the end of their wedding celebrations.

Amazing destination wedding at Hard Rock Hotel in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, Destiny and Gregory

Amazing destination wedding at Hard Rock Hotel in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, Destiny and Gregory

Destiny and Gregory are every wedding photographer dream client! Absolutely gorgeous people! Both beautiful and kind, they were pleasure to work with.

The wedding took place at famous Hard Rock Hotel Punta Cana Dominican Republic and couple of days after, we did the Trash the Dress photo shoot at nearby Macao Beach, amazing public beach couple of minutes driving from the hotel. We so are grateful that we had that extra time, more time to really get to know them.

Since Destiny and Gregory wanted their wedding decor to be very simple, but still have a nice ambience to match tropical scenery. Table centerpieces had a little greenery to match the stationary of the menus. The bride made the Menus and Table numbers herself. That was the only DIY at this wedding.

The wedding day started with bridal hair and make-up preparation at POSH Salon at the Hard Rock Hotel. Guys started their own fun in groom’s room. The ceremony took place at Harmonica Beach in front of La Isla restaurant in Hard Rock Punta Cana Hotel and the reception at Element Terrace.

The absolute highlight of the day was the bride walking down the aisle seeing the groom. She told us later on: “I was hoping not to cry, but I don’t think that worked out in my favor.” As for the groom, Gregory, he told us that: “the most anticipated for me was the kiss, I was kind of nervous kissing in front of all those people. I was even more nervous when the photographers said I would have to kiss for more than 10 seconds.” Lol that would be us, the Darth Vader of weddings :D.

Fairy-tale wedding at Bahia Principe Fantasia Punta Cana, Gisselle and Thomas

Fairy-tale wedding at Bahia Principe Fantasia Punta Cana, Gisselle and Thomas

Fairy-tale wedding at Bahia Principe Fantasia Punta Cana, Gisselle and Thomas

If I wanted to tell you one of the most beautiful stories, the best story of 2020 thus far (post COVID mind you!), then this would be it! And the most probable title would be – Love cannot be cancelled!!!

I know, it sounds quite unlikely that the couple would take a leap of faith and plan a destination wedding in midst of the pandemic, but they did it! And it was absolutely out-of-this-world amazing!

For their own personal fairy-tale Gisselle and Thomas have chosen Bahia Principe Fantasia, in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic – a Caribbean resort with castles that goes perfectly with that descriptive adjective.

The inspiration for this dream wedding was the incredible design of the Nature itself. They envisioned a beachfront wedding, with a lot of palm trees and a night sky with a full moon. Trees gave inspiration for the color scheme – green, white and brown and three bunches of white roses and green leaves give a special touch to the ceremony decor. The bride had ESSENSE OF AUSTRALIA, INC. a mermaid dress with Pnina Tornai veil. She looked like a queen!

Mother of the bride walked her down the aisle, all the way to the Bahia Principe Fantasia ceremony gazebo on the beach where that magic moment happened, the most important two words in person’s life time – the “I do’s”, of course!

If you are not melting yet, here is Gisselle and Thomas love story to help you with that:

“Thomas and I met on October 16, 2012 at a job training. I was waiting for a promotion since January, I took an exam, I got burned and I had to wait 6 months”. At the time she was angry and desperate until she met Thomas. Meeting Thomas was God’s project. In that year, Hurricane Sandy arrived. That led him to join two training classes into one for lack of a teacher. If the classes had not joined, our paths would not have crossed. Thomas also had trouble starting his training. It was originally scheduled for September 24th, something got complicated that caused it to be scheduled for August 16th. Thomas was the soul of the serious and humorous class. Every time he spoke the others laughed no matter how serious he was. At the end of each day Thomas would try to talk common things like, what are you going to eat when you get home? I was offended, he answered, he was telling me that he was very skinny, he replied that when he got home his mother had rice, beans and meat. I respond, you are happy because when I get home I have to cook.

By the end of the 3rd day of training the whole group had already realized that Thomas was captivated except me. That day we all went to have a beer, we shared phone numbers. Before we said goodbye to Thomas it occurred to him that we would sign each other’s training books, at that moment all the classmates began to say Thomas likes Gisselle! Thomas likes Gisselle! I turned red as a Tomato. That was the moment that I realized that I had met someone very special.

Since October 2012 Thomas and I have been inseparable, we have never fought. If we have any disagreements, we talk about it and take time to think with a cold head. Our relationship is based on mutual respect. I remember asking him what is the most important thing in a relationship? His response was – respect for each other!

I have been living with Thomas since May 2017, last year summer 2019 he proposed during a BBQ and I said yes!”
