Dreams Macao Beach Wedding in Punta Cana: Frankeesue and Miguel
Table of Contents:
Frankeesue and Miguel’s Dreams Macao Beach wedding was intimate, emotional and full of the people who matter most to them. They celebrated with around 30 family members and friends, surrounded by the blue ocean, white flowers and soft natural colors of Macao Beach.
There was no first look and no attempt to rush the emotion out of the day. They waited until the beach ceremony to see each other. Miguel spoke his vows without notes. Frankeesue read hers, trying to hold herself together as she looked at him. Later that evening, another moment caught her completely off guard when Miguel danced with their daughter.
Those are the parts of a wedding we remember. The setting matters, but it is the way two people look at one another, and the way their family shares the day with them, that gives the photographs a life beyond the wedding itself.

Getting Ready at Dreams Macao Beach
Miguel got ready in the couple’s room at the resort. His morning was quiet and uncomplicated, with time for the finishing details before he joined the guests at the beach.
Frankeesue got ready in the bridal room at the Dreams Macao Beach spa, where the resort’s hair and makeup team works with brides. The light, neutral interior suited her style. Her gown had clean lines, a fitted shape and a neckline that framed her face without needing heavy accessories. Her Nine West shoes and a personalized dress hanger added small details to the story, but Frankeesue herself remained the focus.
Before she put the dress on, we photographed it outside, beneath one of the resort’s bamboo garden entrances. Whenever we can, we use the resort itself rather than photographing every detail inside one room. It gives the final gallery a much stronger sense of place.
Bridal Portraits Before the Ceremony
Once Frankeesue was ready, we made a few composed bridal portraits in the spa’s bridal room and then let the day continue. She looked elegant, and still completely like herself.
A Right-Side Beach Ceremony
Frankeesue and Miguel chose the right side of Dreams Macao Beach for their ceremony. This side has a shorter walk across the sand, which works especially well for an intimate wedding and keeps the couple close to their guests. If you are still comparing spots, our guide to Dreams Macao Beach ceremony locations walks through every option at the resort.
The design was simple and very effective. A rounded arch of white roses and clouds of baby’s breath stood directly against the ocean. A wooden walkway covered in white petals led across the sand to the arch, and the bridesmaids’ pale blue dresses brought a soft touch of color into the scene. A walkway like this also makes shoe choice much easier for the bride and guests, something we cover in our beach wedding attire guide.
The weather stayed dry, with bright light and scattered clouds over the water. Macao has a wider, more natural coastline than many resort beaches in Punta Cana, and the headland in the distance gives ceremony photographs a setting you can recognize instantly.
Miguel waited at the front as Frankeesue walked toward him. Because they had decided against a first look, the ceremony carried all the anticipation of seeing each other for the first time that day.
Vows They Meant
The ceremony became most emotional during the vows.
Miguel did not read his words. He spoke directly to Frankeesue, trusting himself to say what he wanted her to hear. Frankeesue had written her vows and read them to him. Neither approach felt more polished than the other, and that was exactly why the moment worked. Each of them spoke in the way that felt natural to them.
Our job during something like this is not to interrupt or manufacture a reaction. We watch their faces, the movement of their hands and the people responding around them. The wide photographs keep the ocean and the ceremony design, while the closer frames hold the nervousness, tears and concentration that made the vows theirs.
It was obvious how deeply these two love one another. Not because they performed it for the cameras, but because of the way they stayed focused on each other while everything else was happening around them.
Cocktail Hour Beside the Beach
After the ceremony, guests stayed near the beach for cocktail hour. A Dominican trio played live, giving the gathering a local character without turning it into a staged tourist experience.
While everyone enjoyed the music and drinks, we photographed the families, the wedding party and a few portraits of Frankeesue and Miguel. With an intimate guest list, group photographs can stay relaxed. There is time to include the people who matter without letting the whole cocktail hour become a long list of combinations.
For the couple’s portraits we used the clean ocean light and kept the posing quiet. One of our favorite photographs has Miguel standing close behind Frankeesue with his arms around her. It has an editorial feeling, but the closeness between them keeps it personal.
Seaside Sky Terrace Reception
The celebration continued on the Seaside Sky Terrace, the open-air rooftop near the center of Dreams Macao Beach. It is one of the resort’s most distinctive reception spaces, because it feels separate and private while keeping the architecture of the resort visible around it.
The terrace was designed in white and navy blue, with textured navy charger plates, white napkins and centerpieces of white roses and baby’s breath. Small pastel candles added a little color without changing the clean look of the tables.
An illuminated white dance floor sat in the middle of the terrace. Large LOVE letters glowed beside it, and warm string lights stretched overhead. A rounded floral installation framed the sweetheart table and tied the reception design back to the arch from the ceremony.
As daylight faded, the sky turned deep blue and the terrace lights took over. That short window is especially beautiful in photographs, because the evening still has color while every light in the reception begins to glow.
A Dance Frankeesue Could Not Watch Without Crying
One of the most emotional moments of the night came when Miguel danced with their daughter.
Frankeesue watched them from the sweetheart table. She was already crying before the dance was over. It was not a large public gesture, but it said a great deal about the three of them and the family at the center of this wedding.
This is exactly why we keep watching even when the scheduled moment appears to be happening somewhere else. Miguel and his daughter were dancing, but Frankeesue’s reaction completed the story. The photograph holds both in one frame: their dance in the foreground and her face behind them.
A Party with Its Own Personality
Once dinner and the formal dances were finished, the terrace became a real party. The small guest list did not make the dance floor feel empty. It made everyone more involved.
There was laughter, movement, a few unexpected dance floor performances, and one guest whose bright mustache socks and enthusiastic footwork deserved a photograph of their own. Nobody plans images like that before a wedding, but they are often the ones that make a gallery feel honest.
We want couples to have the elegant portraits and carefully photographed details. We also want them to remember who made everyone laugh, what the dance floor actually looked like, and how the night felt once nobody was thinking about the camera anymore.
Watch Frankeesue and Miguel’s Wedding Film
Their highlights film brings together the ceremony, the vows, the Dominican music, the family moments and the rooftop celebration, with the voices and movement that photographs cannot hold on their own.

Planning a Dreams Macao Beach Wedding?
Dreams Macao Beach gives couples several very different settings inside one resort. Frankeesue and Miguel used the right side of the beach for their ceremony and cocktail hour, then moved to the Seaside Sky Terrace for an open-air reception. Each part of the day had its own atmosphere, and nobody needed transportation to get there.
We are Milan and Nata of Photo Cine Art, a Punta Cana based husband and wife team with more than 16 years of experience photographing and filming weddings in the Dominican Republic. We know Dreams Macao well, including its ceremony locations, portrait spots, changing light and the timing needed to move comfortably through the resort.
