Cassandra and Matthew’s Garden-Inspired Kukua Beach Club Wedding
Table of Contents:
Some couples have a quiet, gentle connection that is easy to notice the moment they look at each other. Cassandra and Matthew are exactly that kind of couple.
They are kind, soft-natured, and very easy to love. Throughout their wedding day, there was a calmness between them, even when everything around them was full of movement, music, laughter, and celebration. The way they looked at each other said more than any carefully posed photograph ever could.
Their Kukua Beach Club wedding brought around 50 of their closest family members and friends together for a romantic beach ceremony, a beautifully designed reception, and a lively evening party that eventually ended in the pool.
Getting Ready at Kukua Beach Club
Cassandra spent the first part of the day getting ready inside Kukua’s bridal room.
Her bridal look was elegant and soft, with long waves, delicate floral hair accessories, and glowing makeup by Olga Brides Panteleeva. Browbar DMN styled her hair, creating a look that felt polished while still fitting naturally into the relaxed beach setting.
Before changing into her wedding dress, Cassandra stepped into the reception area for a few portraits. The restaurant was still quiet, the tables had just been prepared, and the garden-inspired floral design was already filling the space with lavender, blush, peach, yellow, and soft greenery.
It was a beautiful moment to photograph her alone before the venue became full of guests, conversation, and celebration.
Matthew prepared nearby in Kukua’s wooden palapa with his groomsmen.
Their light beige suits looked perfect against the warm wood, white sand, and tropical surroundings. The mood was relaxed, with plenty of joking and laughter, but one of the most meaningful moments happened when Matthew embraced his father.
It was a quiet family moment in the middle of a busy wedding morning, and exactly the kind of photograph that becomes more valuable with time.
An Emotional First Look with Cassandra’s Father
Before the ceremony, Cassandra shared a private first look with her father.
His reaction was emotional and full of pride. These moments often happen very quickly, but they can become some of the most important photographs in a wedding gallery.
Soon afterward, he walked Cassandra toward the beach while Matthew waited beneath the ceremony arch.
The guests stood as they approached, and Matthew watched Cassandra walk toward him with one of the happiest expressions of the day.
A Garden-Inspired Beach Ceremony at Kukua
Cassandra and Matthew chose a symbolic ceremony directly on the beach at Kukua Beach Club, with the Caribbean Sea behind them.
Mayte and the Kukua team created a lush, garden-inspired floral design with roses, hydrangeas, delicate wildflower-style blooms, eucalyptus, and soft greenery. Lavender, blush, peach, pale yellow, and touches of orange gave the ceremony a romantic and slightly unexpected palette.
The white ceremony structure was covered in flowers, while the aisle was lined with low floral arrangements that made the entire setting feel abundant without taking attention away from the ocean.
Gold chairs added a refined touch, and the white aisle created a clean line toward the ceremony arch.
Cassandra’s bridesmaids wore a mix of soft tones and floral prints. Matthew and his groomsmen wore light neutral suits, creating a relaxed and elegant look that worked beautifully with the beach setting.
Nothing felt overly coordinated or rigid. Every part of the wedding design belonged together while still feeling natural.
During the ceremony, Cassandra and Matthew exchanged vows in front of their families and closest friends. The palm trees moved in the breeze, the sea remained visible behind them, and everyone around them was completely present.
A Confetti Exit Full of Happiness
After Cassandra and Matthew were pronounced married, their guests filled the aisle with white confetti.
The photograph of them walking back together became one of our favorites from the entire wedding.
Cassandra is smiling and raising her bouquet, Matthew is beside her, and the guests around them are laughing, cheering, and throwing confetti into the air. Everybody looks genuinely happy.
It was not a staged moment. It was joyful, spontaneous, and full of movement.
That photograph captures the feeling of their wedding perfectly.

Wedding Portraits Around Kukua
After the ceremony, we photographed Cassandra and Matthew around Kukua.
The pool area gave us a clean, elegant setting while the light became softer behind the palm trees. Cassandra’s fitted lace dress looked beautiful beside Matthew’s light suit, and their natural connection made the portraits feel effortless.
They did not need complicated posing.
A small look, a touch, or the way they leaned toward each other was enough to create something meaningful.
Kukua also offers several different backgrounds within a very small area. The beach, pool, palm trees, wooden structures, tropical greenery, and restaurant can all be used without taking the couple away from their guests for too long.
That allowed Cassandra and Matthew to enjoy their portraits while still remaining part of their wedding day.
A Garden-Inspired Reception Inside Kukua’s Restaurant
Dinner and speeches were held inside Kukua’s covered restaurant.
Mayte and the Kukua team continued the garden-inspired floral design throughout the reception.
Tall centerpieces rose above some of the tables, while lower arrangements added softness without blocking the guests’ view. Lavender candles, blush napkins, gold chairs, clear charger plates, and floral stationery completed the design.
The reception felt elegant, romantic, and full of personality.
The flowers were abundant, but the room still felt light and comfortable. The soft pastel palette worked beautifully against Kukua’s white interior, natural wood ceiling, and warm string lights.
Once everyone was seated, the evening moved into speeches.
There were emotional words, plenty of laughter, and many reactions worth photographing. Cassandra and Matthew spent much of the reception smiling at their guests, laughing together, and taking in everything happening around them.
Those unscripted reactions often become some of the strongest photographs of the entire day.
Dinner, Desserts, and Wedding Cake
The wedding menu continued the relaxed but elegant feeling of the celebration.
The tables were filled with floral details, candles, glassware, and soft fabric textures, while the dessert display included individual sweets and crème brûlée.
Their wedding cake had a clean ivory design with pearl-like details and a textured floral base. It fitted perfectly with the romantic décor without competing with the larger floral arrangements around it.
The reception felt carefully designed, but never overly formal.
Guests were able to enjoy dinner, speeches, and conversation while still feeling connected to the pool and beach outside.
First Dance Beside the Pool
As the daylight disappeared, Kukua changed completely.
The string lights above the pool began to glow, the palm trees became silhouettes against the evening sky, and the illuminated LOVE letters created a dramatic backdrop beside the dance floor.
Cassandra and Matthew shared their first dance surrounded by their guests.
One of the most memorable moments happened near the restaurant entrance when Matthew dipped Cassandra, with the pool, palm trees, and beach visible behind them.
Later, they kissed in front of the glowing LOVE letters while cold sparks lit up around them.
The scene felt romantic and celebratory without losing the natural energy that had been present throughout the day.
A Dominican Carnival Show and a Full Dance Floor
The party became even more energetic when the Dominican carnival performers arrived.
The dancers brought bold costumes, movement, music, and a completely different rhythm to the evening.
Guests gathered around the dance floor, joined the choreography, laughed, cheered, and followed the performers. The entire celebration became louder, looser, and more playful.
This was one of those weddings where nearly everyone wanted to participate.
The performers encouraged the crowd, pulled guests into the dances, and kept the energy high beneath the string lights.
Cassandra and Matthew’s wedding was elegant, but it never felt stiff. Their guests were fully present, ready to celebrate, and clearly very happy to be there.
A Pool-Jump Ending
The final part of the night happened beside Kukua’s pool.
By that point, formalities were over, the dance floor was full, and nobody seemed too concerned about keeping their clothes dry.
Matthew and several friends jumped into the pool while still dressed in their wedding clothes.
It was spontaneous, chaotic, and a perfect ending to the night.
The image of everyone running toward the pool captures the energy of the final part of the celebration. It also tells you something important about Cassandra and Matthew’s wedding.
The day was beautifully designed, but it was never only about appearances.
It was about people enjoying themselves, celebrating fully, and creating memories together.
Cassandra and Matthew’s Wedding at Kukua Beach Club
Cassandra and Matthew’s Kukua Beach Club wedding was romantic, joyful, and deeply personal.
Mayte and the Kukua team created a beautiful garden-inspired floral design, but the people gave the wedding its real character.
Cassandra’s emotional moment with her father, Matthew’s embrace with his dad, the way they looked at each other during the ceremony, the confetti exit, the laughter during speeches, the Dominican carnival, and the pool jump all became part of the same story.
That is what we always want a wedding gallery to hold.
Not only how everything looked, but what it felt like to be there.
