- Symbolic Weddings: Tailored Elegance
Opting for a symbolic wedding allows you to harmonize the legal ceremony in your home country while hosting the vibrant wedding festivities in the heart of Punta Cana. This option is also perfect for same-sex couples desiring a captivating celebration on these sun-kissed shores. During the symbolic ceremony, your love will be commemorated, and your journey together will be celebrated with tradition and elegance. While it doesn’t involve legal documentation or issuance of a wedding certificate, it encapsulates the spirit of a traditional wedding.
- Civil Marriage: Sealing Your Love Legally
Experience the allure of a symbolic wedding, coupled with the weight of official recognition. A civil marriage elevates your ceremony by having it solemnized by a Civil Registry Officer. Whether at the Civil Registry Office or an alternative location, this option requires you to present legal documents and reside in the country for three business days prior to the ceremony. In return, you’ll receive a precious Marriage Certificate, and your union will be meticulously recorded in the relevant civil registries.
- Canonical Marriage: Embracing Tradition
Enveloped in the heart of Punta Cana’s enchanting landscapes, the Dominican Republic’s official state religion, Roman Catholicism, adds a layer of sacredness to your union. A Roman Catholic priest will officiate the ceremony in Spanish, with the Roman Catholic Church undertaking the legal registration. While other religious denominations are welcome to conduct ceremonies, Jewish weddings, presided over by a local Rabbi, have notably gained popularity. For couples of diverse faiths, including Jewish, after the ceremony, a visit to the registrar’s office completes the legal process, ensuring your marriage is officially recognized.
