Best way we can to describe Crystal and Jaylan’s wedding were the words from the best man: “there must be something in water today”! LOL! There were happy tears all over the place! From the ceremony, when Crystal’s mom recited the song she wrote for the happy couple, all the way to the reception where Jaylan’s sister did not leave single dry eye in the room!
The officiant for the wedding was Jaylan’s dad. They wanted to show the appreciation and how much they love him by having him officiate the wedding. Also, Jay’s uncle MC the wedding because of his outgoing personality.
For the ladies, the wedding day started at POSH Salon at Hard Rock Hotel in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and for the guys at the groom’s room. Bridesmaids had gorgeous fuchsia dresses that matched perfectly with tropical wedding theme at Isla beach Hard Rock and along with the bouquets they were perfect color pop from the turquoise Ocean background. Crystal and Jaylan wanted their wedding to reflect their personal style, they envisioned mix of simple and upscale decor which was a hit in the center! They had quite a few DIY decor pieces like aisle runner and table centerpieces which matched bridesmaids’ dresses adding a pop of color to the reception decor. Ceremony took place at Isla beach Hard Rock, with Seaside Romance setup with changed drape color and golden chairs. Couple took inspiration for the ceremony setup from ultimate canvas so they choose simple yet gorgeous set up. Wedding guests had a cocktail just before the reception at Piano Gazebo. The reception was at Sax Pool with the table centerpieces they brought and upgraded cake table. The vibe for the reception was so serene with all bistro lights and love sign. Crystal said that she went back and forth with choosing the style of her wedding dress form princess fluffy dress to a boho fitted dress. After seeing herself in her wedding dress (that was by the way drop dead gorgeous!) she absolutely knew that was the one! The bride wore foot jewelry custom made from the same wedding dress as well as all bridesmaids which was a special token of appreciation.
Favorite part of their wedding day, bride and groom told us, was the fact that it was just absolutely beautiful and seeing all of their friends come together to have a great fun night together. They also loved the fact that it rained and everyone kept dancing and didn’t mind. After all, as per Dominican belief, they say it’s good luck when it rains on the wedding day!
Here is their love story
Me and Jaylan met through my father one night Jaylan played on his pool league team and I had stopped to drop cookies off for my dad. After that we clicked and haven’t stopped talking since that day 2 years ago. After that moment I truly believed in love at first sight. Jaylan knows that Christmas is my absolute favorite time of the year. We went to long wood gardens where they had an abundance amount of Christmas lights and flowers all over and he found the perfect spot under a bridge full of gorgeous lights and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was perfect as I already think Christmas is so magical and so was this moment. I think the most special moment of the wedding day was finally getting to walk down the aisle to each other after a crazy year with the pandemic. My advice for planning a destination wedding is just hang in there during the process it is hard and stressful at times but when you finally get to your special day it is all so worth it. Spend the extra money on things that are important to you. We did and we do not regret a single dollar. As far as marriage advice just love each other. Life is never perfect and obstacles happen. Get through them together. You will come out stronger. And always love and build each other up and be a power couple. Love always wins in the end!!
